This term was used by a roman writer, Virgil, to beware people. Greeks could not conquer Troy they left a giant wooden horse, as a gift for the Trojans. This gift was placed inside the city and out came the hidden Greek soldiers in the darkness of night. They easily defeated Trojans and successfully conquered troy.
