  • This idiom is originated from the bible. The pupil of eye was considered solid and shaped as apple. Hence, it is most precious thing for us and without it we cannot see. This is why; we call a thing or a person, ‘an apple of our eye’ when we actually cannot stop us admiring and loving them.
