Etymology:

• This idiom came into existence in the mid of 15ht century. This was used by elite people to control the demands of lower class, who were being too bold about their requirements. They shunned them by telling them that they belong to lower class and could not make certain choices. They would only get what was meant for them in any condition. In modern context this idiom is often used in a light manner.
