Blow Your Own Horn

Etymology:

• This idiom has originated from the ancient Romans, who used to blow horns to represent great victory, arrival or achievement by anyone. In many kingdoms, where royals used to govern people, trumpets and horns were played to alert people. It was done to tell them that someone important is coming. Today people are tooting their horns and clearly bragging about their qualities. In a few cases, you need to show your qualities but if done in a strange manner it is known as, bragging.
