Etymology:
- It was customary in early 19th century in America to made handmade tools that had axe heads which people used to cut down trees to construct houses. These tools were often roughly made and sometimes during frantic chopping there was a chance for the axe heads to fly off the handle. So the flying axe head is similar to any short tempered person who immediately gets out of control.
