Get wrecked, to become worse and impaired
Etymology:
- This 16th century idiom referred to old and useless animals that could not provide with milk, eggs, could not even breed and pull carts, so they were only considered good to be slaughtered, cooked in pot and served on the dinner table. Today we use this expression for anything or anyone who has been “gone to pot” meaning has been whacked or good for nothing.
