Jet Set

Representing people of high class, those who travel in a fashionable manner for pleasure

Etymology:

  • The word “jet” refers to planes and “set” we know is a collection or group of people. When sharp and speedy jet planes were introduced in 1950s, the phrase ‘jet set’ became much popular to refer to a rich and fashionable class who used to travel in a jet. They were always traveling from one place to another to attend parties in one place and having homes and residents in different place. Today “jet set” refers to people belonging to a fairly rich class who are accustomed to travel in jets for pleasure or anything else.
