  • In United States, it was customary in old days, to become a member of the Parliament, candidates used to ride in different towns by riding into horse driven wagons which was accompanied with a musical band to attract large number of people. If the candidate was liked by the people, they would support him and “jump on the bandwagon” to show that they are with him. Today we can say that people who are involved in any activity which they think would be successful or gain popularity; they are “jumping on the bandwagon”.
