Point of No Return

Etymology:

• The expression is originated from events in World War II during which pilots in certain planes were aware that for whatever fuel they had, with the help of it they will fly to definite miles. The point or mark when they would reach the key or crucial point was called the point of no return. On reaching that point, they knew that if they headed on from this point or continued their flight, they would not have any fuel to take them back to their home base. So they could neither go ahead nor could they go back.
