Red Letter Day

Etymology:

• Days of Saints, special holidays and various religious events and festivals were marked with red color or inks on the calendars of churches, particularly during the medieval times. Red letters were always associated with the special days that should be remembered exclusively. Any special or pleasant day can surely be considered as red-letter day even if it doesn’t have red color ink on your calendar.
