Settle an Old Score

Etymology:

• It is 17th century English phrase, which originated from a bill that was called “score”. If you settled your score it meant that you have paid or cleared up your bills for what you owed in the past. Now this phrase is applied to clearing up or resolving an issue or getting equal with someone who had done something wrong in the past with you. It also means to take your revenge from someone who has done anything wrong to you.
