Etymology:
- The expression is thought to have originated in America in the 19th century, during West ward Migration, when basic means of transportation was a covered wagon. The meaning of the word “fix” is taken as to take revenge from someone but it can also mean to tie up or hold something firmly, in case of wagon to tying it up, means to secure it and save it from rolling away. Nowadays the expression “fix someone’s wagon” means to plot against a person intending to cause his or her failure.
