Come Again

To ask someone to repeat something, as words or tone delivered earlier were not clear enough

Etymology:

  • It is an interesting idiom, which originated in the 19th century. It was used by Americans for the first time. In earlier times many Africans and Americans used the term ‘come’ instead of ‘speak’ and it is believed that this expression originated, due to this practice. Now this verb is used to request or ask someone to speak once again and make the things clear.
