Cream of the Crop

Etymology:

• It is one of the most interesting idioms that originated from the farms. After milking a cow the cream comes to the top of milk. Farmers preferred this cream over the milk, as it can be used for making different bakery items. French use a very famous expression ‘la crème de la crème’, which means ‘the cream of the cream’. This expression is now used to describe anything that is of best quality or features.
