Some place far away, in remote places

Etymology:

  • The natives of capital city of Philippines, Manila, speak Tagalogs. In their native language, the word “bundok” is used to refer to mountain. In the start of 20th century, United States had their military camps stationed in that area. During that time the meaning of this word was expanded to refer to any remote place far away from the cities.
