Pen is Mightier than the Sword

Etymology:

• The phrase was first used in 17th century. Both pen and sword have certain common features such as both are sharp, pointed and are used with hand. But history reveals that writer’s contributions in changing the plight or in the course of events have been more effective than military people using swords and weapons. We have examples in the likes of Magna Carta, the Declaration of independence and many other significant writings changing history than wars.
