Etymology:
- It is a 16th century phrase, which originated from the yearning many people have for sweets. This desire was called to have a “sweet tooth”. Actually, there are teeth that are associated by people to crave for different tastes such salty, sour and sweet. That is how “sweet tooth” originated. Earlier the expression meant to refer to sweet meat, wine, or pastry but today the expression refers to have a craze or love for cakes, pastries and all sugary food items.
