Skillfully playing the piano

Etymology:

  • Many years ago, Ivories were considered to be the keys of piano because they were made of it. However, discoloring and cracking of the ivories was surely a possibility at that time. Animal tusks were used to make natural ivory. Now the keys are made with the assistance of synthetic materials. Some of the piano players don’t use good tactics to play piano and they just bang the ivories that don’t sound too good. However, good piano players always “tickle the ivories” with soft and sensitive touch to the keys that makes a wonderful sound.
